About the Space

What it was and what it is now.

There is no other space like this in Western North Carolina. Riverfront, street front, in a terrific community of artists and artisans, only 20 minutes from the center of Asheville, NC.

The building was built around 1927. It used to be the Pioneer Ford automobile dealership.

An loft/living space in the back by the river has two bedrooms, a living room and European bath upstairs, and a living room area, dining room area, fully equipped kitchen and private outdoor patio off the kitchen. There's are two decks upstairs,  one overlooking the river--a perfect place for al fresco coffee or cocktails--and a large "play" deck on the other side of the upstairs living space. Abundant wildlife visible off the river deck, particularly waterfowl--ducks, geese, osprey, herons--and the occasional beaver.

The commercial space includes a covered carport, and a two large gallery rooms with 14 foot ceilings.

The gallery space floors have been coated in  gloss epoxy The epoxy is clear so you can see the past incarnations as a car repair shop and artist gallery showing through. Most important the floors are durable and waterproof. They are VERY low maintenance. The carport space is new brick.

There is a fully ADA compliant bathroom in the larger gallery space. The entire commercial space is already up to code for a commercial retail business.
